I've had the same problem-not accept alphabetical designations for
classification. I haven't tried it in the latest version, though.

In the classification manager, I choose "add new," type in the record
group's letter and title and other creator information, and click "add."
That doesn't work?

Subject: [Archon-L] Record Groups Identification Question

I have just begun to use Archon in our small school archives. I want to
enter our record groups but we use letters instead of numbers (AC -
Academic Dept.; SU - Superintendent's Office, etc.). In Classification
Manager, only numbers are allowed to identify record groups. Is there a
work-around that will enable me to use our already assigned letter
classifications?

 Thanks.
