I am pleased to share that Swem Library's Special Collection Research Center
Database (http://scrc.swem.wm.edu/) now provides the most comprehensive
online access to Manuscript Collections and University Archives collections
in the SCRC. Descriptions ranging from brief records through complete
finding aids are available for most collections in the SCRC. We are also
adding links to PDFs of box and folder level inventories where in the past
these were only available in binders in the SCRC.

In the coming months, we will be working to add records to the library's
online catalog for those collections not previously cataloged (which
includes almost all University Archives collections). This is the first time
that users have been able to search more than a token handful of University
Archives collections outside of a card catalog in the SCRC as well as the
first time that a significant number of Manuscript Collections and
University Archives collections could be searched through the same interface
(whether electronic or card catalog).

As Wayne Graham mentioned in a message a couple weeks ago, in addition to
the many hours put into this project by staff and students we also relied on
an Archon Miracle. Finally, please be aware that there is data in Archon
that we are in the process of cleaning-up, so while it may not always appear
perfect, it is accurate.
