[Archon-L] Archon version 2.0 Released

We have released version 2.0 of archon for download.  We 
have been using it for the past several weeks at UIUC in 
production mode, and it seems to be working fine.

I'd recommend installing a test version and keeping any 
production versions of 1.11 in place until you are comforatable 
using 2.0.  There are some significant changes in the underlying 
architecture of 2.0, so you should only upgrade a production 
server after considerable testing.

Please send any questions about it to the listserv.  At this 
point, documentation is not complete.  Our plan is to do whatever 
bug fixes are necessary, then release version 2.01 in about a 
month.  Version 2.01 will also include a complete set of user, 
administrator, and technical documentation.

The next version of Archon (2.1?) will include an accessions 
module.  I know several institutions are keenly interested in 
that, so if you want to help us with it, the first step would be 
to list out some functions/fields etc that you'd like to see in 
it.  Please send these to the listserv, so everyone can comment.
